The 3rd Midlands I.T.F Open |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It was a very early start for the members of the Gardner Tae Kwondo School (GTS) and their supporters but that did not dampen their enthusiasm for the coming competition. On arrival after a long 41/2 hours on the coach the competitors were soon in the throws of competition. Mr Nick Gardner 3rd Dan won the first medal of the day for Patterns and then Sparring and Destruction, which set the benchmark for the rest of the GTS team. The spirit of the GTS club permeated every event with GTS taking medals in virtually every category which makes this even more remarkable is that we only had twenty competitors but won 12 Golds, 9 Silvers and 7 Bronze medals. There were some remarkable finals with Mr Adam Gardner displaying strength, aggression and techniques that overpowered his opponent. Mr Mark Peachy and Mr Reegan Mathews both GTS members facing each other in the finals of the pattern to the applause of the GTS Supporters. Scott Judd and Patrick Ronan, both GTS Members, fighting each other in the final which ended in a brilliant fight. Jasmine Duggan who was the only competitor in her division who decided to fight in the weight division above. Young Eligh Mathews who continued to fight on even though he had a bloodied nose. Youngsters, Craig Judd, Kalum Dawson and Bradley Stevens whom all have the potential to become awesome Tae Kwondo practitioners displayed courage that was beyond there years. The Day finished with the presentation of the medals and then the GTS photo with everyone proudly displaying there trophys and then the start of the long coach trip home, phew what a DAY!!
Gardner Tae Kwondo Schools would like to thank the parents for there much appreciated support and assistance in making this day a great day. We would also like to thank Master Harry for a well run and throughly enjoyable event. Report By |
