After much preparation and anticipation we set off at 6'Oclock on a nice fresh morning on the journey to St Albans. This was the clubs first competition and nobody expected some of the dramas that unraveled throughout the day.
On arrival we where made welcome by Mr Chris Snow and had the opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones, which is of course, is part of why we are involved in T.K.DAs a young an newly established club within the Kent area, we were delighted to have 10 competitors participating, all of which were competing in 7th kup divisions and below, also Instructors Nick and Adam Gardner were
also competing, this was to be because some of the students were asked to fight out of their divisions, so Nick decided to leadbyexample and enter the Hyper Weight Division, which everybody attending were looking forward too.On the day, Black Belt divisions were called upon first, which gave the two Black Belt representatives the opportunity to set the tempo for the day.
Mr Adam Gardner (Assistant Instructor GTS), and Mr Nick Gardner (Instructor GTS), picking up between them 2 gold's and 1 bronze. As the day progressed the coloured belt pattern divisions proceeded. Reegan Mathews came second, losing out to an experienced opponent. Mark Peachey came fourth, but unfortunately received no medal as only three medals were given out this year.
Ben Baddeley looked impressive and looked certain to be placed within the medals, until he forgot his pattern (nice one Ben!), having also forgotten his belt!

Sometimes you do not have to win trophies, to have impressed those around you. Beginning with the 16+ division 6th Kup and under.Alan May fought bravely against a much heavier opponent, during which he became injured but continued under a great deal
of pressure, only just losing out to an able opponent Ali Campbell fought remarkably well reaching and winning the final, despite harboring an injury. This adding yet another medal to the clubs tally. Then came the 13-15 division 6th kup and under a very competitive sparring division.
Reegan Mathews and Mark Peachey meet in the final, after having fought terrifically.Reegan Mathews emerged victorious after a long and closely contested fight(which went onto added time). Tyler Cawood, one of our youngest members won a silver in the under
12's sparring category, which to be honest was a great achievement due to the size of the division, healso managed to win a gold in the destruction event, a solid performance from a promising young student.

Please remember that everyone at the club plays his or her part in helping the students above achieve their goals. Remember that without training partners and senior students around you to help you improve, it is not possible for the system to work.
To the club members who were unlucky this time i.e. Richard Stuart, Kieran Waterer, Jack Mackenzie and Reece Kinch, keep training hard. To the Students who did not attend this competition thanks for helping your club mates prepare for this competition, as they in turn will help you to achieve your goals in the future.
We would like to extend our thanks to Master Trevor Nicholls for his support on the day, as we are only to aware of his very busy schedule. We would also like to extend a thank you to the L.T.S.I and Mr Chris Snow for an exciting and fairly run competition, and we look forward to seeing you again next year. We would also like to extend a thank you to
all the parents and supporters who traveled to the competition, as we really do appreciate your support and hope to see you again soon.
